Permissions explained

onisQuotes uses the ACL from Joomla! for all the actions that can be done in the component. Below you will find the list with all the available actions and the description for each of them. The descriprion is for the action saved as "Allowed".

 Author - new  users can add new authors
 Author - do not moderate new author  users can add authors without administrator moderation
 Author - view  users can view authors
 Author - edit  users can edit authors, if own author or if user is administrator
 Author - delete  users can delete authors, if own author or if user is administrator
 Author - unlimited  users can add unlimited authors
 Author - add image  users can add author image, if own author or if user is administrator
 Author - view image  users can view authors image
 Author - add to gallery  users can add images to authors gallery
 Author - remove from gallery  users can remove images from authors gallery, if own author or if user is administrator
 Author - view gallery  users can view image gallery from authors
 Author - add comment  users can add comment on authors
 Author - rate comment  users can rate comment from authors
 Author - report comment  users can report comment from authors
 Author - view comment  users can view comment from authors
 Author - do not moderate new comment  users can add comment on authors without administrator moderation
 Author - favorite  users can favorite authors
 Author - privacy  users can set authors privacy
 Author - rating  users can rate authors
 Author - report  users can rate authors
 Author - share  users can share authors
 Author - view statistics  users can view authors statistics
 Author - terms and conditions  users needs to agree with terms and conditions when submitting authors
 Quote - new  users can add new quotes

Installation

Before installing onisQuotes, you can have a look at details about server's requirement.

To properly install onisQuotes into your Joomla! installation, follow these steps:

  1. Log-in to your profile then go to My downloads and download the component to your computer;
  2. Extract the files from the main archive;
  3. On the administrator are of your site, go to Extensions->Manage;
  4. On the Upload package file tab, click browse, select the archive from the folder with the component on your computer and click Upload & Install;
  5. After installation is done you have to enable the following modules (on all pages, position does not matter):
    • onisQuotes Ajax (site)
    • onisCore Ajax (site)
    • onisQuotes Ajax Administrator (administrator)
    • onisCore Ajax Administrator (administrator)
Note! Go to Extensions->Plugins, and make sure that System - Oniscore is enabled;

Getting started

After a successfull installation, the menu for onisQuotes now appears under Components tab on your administrator section of the site and can be managed from there:

The first thing to do after installation is to configure onisQuotes. To do that click on Preferences.
